Zombly Safety and Compatibility
Independent status
Zombly is an independent compatibility utility intended for compatible legacy Yummly Bluetooth cooking thermometers and probes. Zombly is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or supported by Yummly or any of Yummly's former or current owners.
Zombly is not an official replacement app, a certified compatibility service, a warranty provider, or a manufacturer support channel.
Food safety
- Zombly displays candidate temperature data decoded from Bluetooth probe readings.
- Food selection, preparation, cooking, storage, serving, and safety decisions remain the user's responsibility.
- Always confirm food safety with a properly calibrated food thermometer before serving.
- Follow applicable food-handling guidance for the food, preparation method, and people being served.
- Zombly is not a medical, laboratory, certified, or commercial food-safety system.
- Do not rely on Zombly as the only safety check or use it where a delayed, missing, or inaccurate reading or alert could create a hazardous condition.
Readings, timers, and alerts may be delayed, unavailable, or inaccurate because of probe placement, battery level, hardware condition, Bluetooth distance or interference, connection quality, firmware differences, decoding limitations, iPhone or iOS behavior, and other factors.
Compatibility limits
Compatibility is not guaranteed for every:
- Yummly thermometer or probe model;
- firmware version;
- battery or hardware condition;
- Bluetooth environment;
- iPhone model;
- current iOS version; or
- future operating-system release.
A device appearing in a scan, connecting, or producing an initial reading does not guarantee complete, accurate, or continued compatibility. Future firmware, Bluetooth, or operating-system changes may alter or prevent operation.
V1 Bluetooth behavior
Zombly scans for nearby Bluetooth devices, connects to a user-selected device, discovers known services and characteristics, reads selected data characteristics, and enables notifications for candidate readings. The audited V1 app does not send probe command payloads and does not call CoreBluetooth writeValue.
Free compatibility mode lets a user scan, connect, and check for a basic candidate reading before starting the proposed trial or buying lifetime access. Secondary experimental sensor behavior is not presented as a supported V1 feature.
