Zombly Terms of Use
Independent compatibility utility
Zombly is developed by Kevin Barrett as an independent iOS compatibility utility intended for compatible legacy Yummly Bluetooth cooking thermometers and probes. Zombly is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or supported by Yummly or any of Yummly's former or current owners. References to Yummly identify the type of legacy hardware Zombly is designed to communicate with; they do not imply affiliation or manufacturer support.
Compatibility
Compatibility is not guaranteed for every thermometer or probe model, firmware version, battery or hardware condition, Bluetooth environment, iPhone model, iOS version, or future operating-system release. A device appearing in a scan, connecting, or producing an initial reading does not guarantee complete, accurate, or continued compatibility.
Zombly reads selected Bluetooth characteristics and enables notifications for candidate probe data. It does not send probe command payloads or call CoreBluetooth writeValue. The app may stop working with particular hardware or software after a device, firmware, Bluetooth, or operating-system change.
Free compatibility mode and Cook mode
Zombly is designed as a free download. Scanning, connection, and a basic compatibility reading remain available without a paid entitlement. Starting Cook mode—including live cook monitoring, the timer, and target alerts—requires an active trial or a valid lifetime entitlement.
In-app purchases
- Proposed 3-day Trial: If offered through the App Store, the trial unlocks Cook mode for 72 hours from the original verified StoreKit purchase date. It is not a subscription, does not renew, and does not automatically charge the user. Restoring or reinstalling Zombly does not restart the trial.
- Zombly Lifetime Unlock: This is a one-time non-consumable purchase, not a subscription. It does not renew and does not create recurring billing. Access remains subject to a valid verified StoreKit transaction.
Prices displayed by Zombly come from the App Store and may vary by storefront or currency. Apple handles payment processing, purchase approval, transaction records, and refund decisions under Apple's terms. A pending, failed, cancelled, unverified, revoked, or refunded transaction does not unlock Cook mode. Restore Purchases asks Apple to synchronize verified transactions.
Apple's refund-request information
Zombly does not use an external checkout or a third-party purchase SDK.
Food safety and user responsibility
Zombly displays candidate temperature data decoded from Bluetooth probe readings. Food selection, preparation, cooking, storage, serving, and safety decisions remain the user's responsibility. Always confirm food safety with a properly calibrated food thermometer and follow applicable food-handling guidance before serving.
Zombly is not a medical, laboratory, certified, or commercial food-safety system. Readings, timers, and alerts may be delayed, unavailable, or inaccurate because of probe placement, battery level, hardware condition, connection quality, firmware differences, decoding limitations, or other factors. Do not rely on Zombly as the only food-safety check.
Availability and changes
Zombly is provided without a guarantee of continuous availability, compatibility, connectivity, accuracy, or manufacturer support. Features and these terms may change as the app, supported hardware, StoreKit configuration, or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated when revised terms are published.
